On May 14th the Lincoln City Council made sexual orientation and gender identity a protected class concerning employment, housing, and public accommodations.
In response, Nebraska Family Council and Family First have launched a petition drive to allow the people of Lincoln to vote on this issue. We have only 15 days to collect signatures.
All petitions must be returned by May 28th at 5:00pm to our office located at 1106 E Street.
If you are interested in signing the petition or collecting signatures from your friends, family, church or coworkers, please send us an email or call us at 402.477.3191 for more information. Our office is open from 8:30-5:00 Monday-Friday and will also be open Saturday May 19th from 9 – noon.
Our attorneys have looked over the ordinance and we do not believe the religious exemptions will be sufficient to protect churches and people of faith in Lincoln.
